This past weekend we completed the decorative lighting at Cabin 2. We also hung a round swing from a branch 30' up, it's a great spot for laying back and gently swaying in the breeze while enjoying the view of the trees and sky!

This weekend we will be building the horseshoe court, installing a 60' slack line for trying out your balancing skills and also installing a pair of disc golf goals. We will provide each cabin with some throwing discs, or feel free to bring your own!
]]>Mon, 18 Sep 2023 15:38:21 GMThttp://woodsycovecabins.com/news/the-upgrades-continueIn the last couple of weeks we've installed a gazebo at Cabin 2 that matches the one at Cabin 1. We also installed decorative gravel, walking stones and a planter with some ornamental metal flowers obtained at First Monday Trade Days in nearby Canton. We installed some lighting around the sail panel and will be installing more around the gazebo soon.

The zip line is also now installed! we've tested it out with over 30 runs and it's a lot of fun! 

In the next 2 weeks we're installing the horseshoe pits, a picnic table, a round swing that will be suspended from one of the trees in the cove and some frisbee golf goals on either end of the clearing.

We will be going live with the Airbnb listing in about a week for reservations starting in October!

We also added a walking path from the cabin to the patio, and added LED string lighting to the cabin porch and to the gazebo. See the Cabin 1 tab for updated photos! 

Green Pastures Outdoor Management has been clearing and enlarging the cove, they completed their work over the weekend and it looks great! The views from the cabins have really been improved and the overgrown, cluttered creek that runs near the cabins is now cleaned up.

This weekend we will be starting updates to the exterior around Cabin 2 and should finish in 2 weeks time! We're excited to finish our preliminary renovations and open our cabins for rental! We purchased this land and cabins recently, the cabins were already beautifully decorated inside but the cove area needed a lot of cleanup work. So far we've had a new gravel drive installed, done additional clearing of the cove area, cleaned up a lot of debris that was littering the cove, added signage to the cabins and poured pea gravel concrete pads to place the fire pits on. Next week a crew is coming out to clear debris out of the creek that runs adjacent to the cabins. The following weekend we'll be installing the fire pits and patio seating. After that we will be fencing in the front of the site to create some more privacy, adding a private electric gate to access the cabins and adding signage at the street to help you find the cabins. At that point we will open for rentals! We have future plans to build bridges across the creek and expand the hiking trails to cover more of the site, as well as add some features along the hiking trail such as benches and a tree house! Owning this beautifully wooded site is a dream that's finally becoming reality and we are going to continue to make improvements to it :-)
